Kids
Palma Sola Community Church’s passion is to bring God’s Word to children and families in easy-to-learn ways, based on a strong doctrinal foundation in the Bible that gives children and families Godly values that they can carry with them throughout their lives.
The Pre-K children’s curriculum teaches energetic little ones about the Lord Jesus Christ as we let them play while they learn! Kids are delighted playing the games, enjoying drama, art, music, videos and storytelling, as they learn about God’s Word and how to apply it to their daily lives. The children love learning as they play, listen and talk.
The elementary school curriculum (grades 1-5) teaches God’s Big Picture. It takes the children through a majestic gallery of major characters and themes of God’s Word! Children learn that they are “unique, unrepeatable miracles of God” through a solid understanding of their Christ-centered identity in the Gospel of the Grace of God! Each Bible lesson is designed to get children excited about the wonderful way that God has revealed Himself to us. Emphasis is placed on teaching children concrete reasoning that instills critical thinking. Children’s ability to remember what they learned is greatly increased. The children enjoy age-appropriate activities - including games, crafts and creative play.
A major program at Palma Sola Community Church is the Grace Martial Arts after-school program serving children and families throughout Manatee County. Grace Martial Arts is a ministry tool that powerfully connects with our kids’ world while affirming them with vital Christian family values. We want students to be strong in body, mind and Christ-centered character. Each class begins with prayer, Bible memory and a time of exercise for health and fitness. Students are taught to show respect to their parents, teachers and fellow classmates. The student also receives colored belt promotions every 2-3 months.
First, students acquire Christ-Defense, together with relational, Biblical life-skills. Our challenge is to lead students to know the Lord and His Word so well that they will readily employ Biblical principles and will make wise lifestyle choices.
Secondly, students acquire Mental-Defense that builds Godly character and confidence and strengthens disciplined direction for student’s lives and education.
Third, students acquire Physical-Defense with a maximum efficiency of self-defense skill and advanced kinetic movement principles for optimal health and well-being.
Our purpose is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ, providing parameters within which a child can operate safely and securely. Our commitment is to become parents’ trusted ministry friends, as they invest in the eternal destiny of their children. The Grace Martial Arts classes are designed to help students strengthen personal discipline, reduce fear of failure, teach leadership skills and provide a safe, enjoyable activity that will help them achieve their full potential.

MISSION STATEMENT
Palma Sola Community Church Women’s Ministry seeks to glorify God through:
- Relationships - fostering relationships to help create fellowship, support and unity with one another
- Spiritual Encouragement - growing in our walk with Christ through prayer, Bible study and uplifting each other spiritually.
- Mission Emphasis - providing opportunities to meet the needs of others within our church and community.
- Church Ministry - to utilize our gifts and talents to edify the body of Christ through our witness, evangelism, outreach and to support the work of the Church.
Overcomers in Christ (OIC) is a ministry that encourages group sharing in a safe environment while
empowering people, through the Holy Spirit, to overcome a variety of hurts and life-controlling
problems. The ministry provides many recovery resources that are grace centered and easy to use. We
welcome you to visit and consider inviting a friend to experience God’s unconditional love, acceptance,
grace, renewed hope and truth in a safe confidential environment. We also welcome anyone who may
desire to learn how to establish and facilitate an OIC group.
OIC groups meet regularly to share the comfort, hope and freedom that they find in the Lord. The group
dynamics facilitate personal accountability along with high emphasis on confidentiality. The fellowship
provides a safe place for everyone to share feelings that draw people together like a magnet!
No appointment is needed to attend an OIC group. Beginning September 14, 2020 the groups meet
every Monday from 7:00 to 8:15pm at the church.
Prayer
We meet each Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm for Bible study and prayer in the church Fellowship Hall. Prayer is a defining mark of Palma Sola Community Church. We receive requests from all over the country and the world and consider prayer one of our most important ministries.
Missions
Support for missions has always occupied a soft place in the hearts of Palma Sola Community Church members including our late Pastor, Dick Erickson.
By God’s grace our Fellowship is presently supporting 10 missionaries or mission groups, some of which have outreaches far beyond their original areas of focus God’s work, in God’s time using God’s people is having an amazing impact!
